POMFRET CENTER and TOLLAND, CT (August 21, 2023) — Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor Leisl L. Cording has been named to the Hartford Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” list for 2023.
2023 Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, created by Hartford Business Journal, recognizes young professionals in the Greater Hartford area for their leadership and contributions to the community. (The award is not specific to financial services and does not imply an endorsement, recommendation, or reflect the performance of the advisor. Visit hartfordbusiness.com for more information.)
According to the Hartford Business Journal, the award’s recipients – who are chosen by a panel of independent judges made up of selected professionals and community leaders – “will be part of an outstanding class of upcoming business leaders, who share a commitment to business success, personal growth, and community involvement.”
Just 25 percent of all financial advisors are women, and even fewer are in leadership positions. At 37 years old, Cording is both. She brings 15 years of experience working with high-net-worth individuals in multiple areas of wealth management – including financial planning, retirement income planning and estate planning to her role as Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor at WHZ. Additionally, Cording is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP ®), primarily focused on helping early- and mid-career clients, particularly women and families, to balance and prioritize their financial goals.
In March of this year, she became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA®), placing her among less than 50 financial professionals in the state of Connecticut to currently hold that designation. Also in March, she was featured in FORTUNE magazine as one of the nation’s “Five Star Wealth Managers Under Forty.” The article was in reference to her recent selection to receive the Five Star Wealth Manager Award* for the second consecutive year in 2022 (2021 being the first year she was eligible for consideration).
(*2022 FIVE STAR WEALTH MANAGER AWARD, created by Five Star Professional. Presented in November 2022 based on data gathered between February 2022 and September 2022. 2,950 Connecticut-area advisors were considered, 290 (10%) of advisors were recognized. In the community, Cording serves on The Woodstock Academy’s Board of Trustees, The Woodstock Academy Foundation Board of Directors; Quasset Cemetery Association board member; Volunteer Coordinator for Putnam Business Association’s annual Fire & Ice event; and as Head Coach for the NECONN U15 Girls Soccer Team.
“We are thrilled for Leisl and couldn’t be prouder to have her as a financial advisor and leader on our team. Leisl is really passionate about helping our clients to become financially empowered, and also really dedicated to the community causes she’s committed to, which makes her an ideal leader in our firm,” said WHZ Principal, Managing Partner and Chief Goals Strategist James Zahansky, AWMA®. “She’s an excellent example of the values and quality of client relationships we adhere to at WHZ, and we look forward to continuing to help fuel her growth as colleagues and friends in the years to come.”
"I'm really honored to have been selected and feel especially grateful for the team, opportunity and growth at WHZ. This is also very empowering for me as a woman in a male-dominated industry, and I hope it inspires other women to know they can achieve great things too,” Cording said.
