WHZ's Hale Elected Trustee for Connecticut’s Episcopal Church Donations and Bequests Board

Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors (WHZ) Principal/Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer Laurence Hale AAMS®, CRPS® has been elected to the Board of Trustees for Donations and Bequests for Church Purposes of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut.

Donations & Bequests (D&B), a fiduciary for assets of the Episcopal Church of Connecticut (ECCT), offers ECCT parishes and institutions access to professional investment management services and a portfolio of investment options normally only available to the largest investment funds.

As a result of its significant combined portfolio of over $150 million in assets, the D&B is able to offer low management and custodial fees to its participants, along with a hybrid allocation to active management and index funds that enables its participants access to institutional-level investment management.

“I’m really very honored and happy to take on this role for the Donations & Bequests. It’s the perfect opportunity to contribute my wealth management knowledge and skills to support the faith community and its various initiatives in service to the greater community. Not only that, but it also aligns with the philosophy that we hold so strongly at WHZ around our Plan Well, Invest Well, Live Well strategic process – that the point of maintaining a solid financial plan and investment strategy isn’t necessarily to build wealth, per se, but to attain the big life goals and experiences that require money to achieve,” Hale said.

“Helping others to build wealth in line with their values and in service to what they want to be able to contribute to others is one of the most satisfying parts of my work, ultimately empowering our greater community to Live Well.”

In keeping with that sentiment, Hale says he is particularly looking forward to helping to manage and guide the ECCT’s “Values Investing Fund,” which is guided by the values of The Episcopal Church and tailored to make investments that not only create shareholder value but also support sustainable environmental stewardship, equitable social justice and responsibility, and best practices in corporate governance.
