POMFRET, CT (March 1, 2023)

Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor Leisl L. Cording, CFP® has been featured in a special section of Fortune Magazine titled “Five Star Wealth Managers Under 40.” The piece recognizes wealth advisors from across the country who are under 40 years old and who were selected to receive the Five Star Wealth Manager1 award from Five Star Professional in 2022.

The Five Star Award is the largest and most widely published wealth manager award program in the financial services industry. This is the second Five Star Wealth Manager Award that Cording has earned, having also received the award in 2021, the first year she was eligible. Among all Connecticut wealth managers who were eligible, Cording was one of just 290 – or 10 percent of all candidates – to receive the award.

WHZ’s Principals/Managing Partners Laurence Hale, AAMS, CRPS® and James Zahansky AWMA® were also named Five Star Wealth Managers in 2022, marking the ninth consecutive year that all WHZ advisors eligible for the award were selected to receive it.

For Cording, the distinction is especially impressive given her young age and the fact that only about 25 percent of wealth managers are women.

The Fortune article reads, in part,
"What makes this group so unique is that they are already part of an exclusive group – they’re all Five Star Wealth Managers. Winners of the Five Star Wealth Manager award have already been vetted by a third-party research process that includes 10 objective criteria. The set of award winners listed [here] has an additional distinction: they all satisfied those criteria and won the Five Star award at a young age.”

For Cording, 2022 was undoubtedly a year of growth and achievement. She was promoted to senior vice president at WHZ in February 2022, just three years after joining the firm and a few months after earning her first Five Star Wealth Manager designation in the first year she was eligible.

“I was already thrilled to be selected as a Five Star Wealth Manager for the second year. To also now be featured in Fortune Magazine as being among those wealth managers under 40 to have achieved that is incredible and I'm honored,” Cording said.

Cording says she loves watching her clients being empowered to achieve their goals and dreams as a result of the strategic financial plan she’s helped them to create and maintain. She particularly enjoys working with women and others like herself who are in their late thirties and forties.

“I love helping clients work toward achieving their financial goals, which then allows them to achieve their life goals. When you can help someone feel confident about their ability to accomplish their dreams that’s always really rewarding,” Cording says.

“I find it especially rewarding when working with clients that I can identify with on a personal level. They maybe are new to being in a position of building wealth, like younger clients and women who perhaps didn’t have the confidence or opportunity to build and manage their own wealth in the past.”

The article appears in the February/March edition of FORTUNE and in the “FORTUNE Branded Content” section of its website at fortune.com.

The Five Star Wealth Manager awards are presented by Five Star Professional in partnership with Connecticut Magazine as a means to help consumers find outstanding wealth managers and investment professionals in their area. The award is given based on a rigorous, multifaceted research methodology, which incorporates input from peers and firm leaders along with standards for industry experience, education and professional designations, client retention rates, and a thorough review of regulatory history.
